Cycle safety programme - It is important that if we are riding our bikes out on the road that we are aware of the being safe.  We learnt how best to fit a helmet to our heads, the importance of wearing closed shoes with the shoelaces done up properly and how to use our brakes and do hand signals correctly.

Life Education Van - Our focus in the Life Education Van with Ingrid and Harold was on friendships and positive relationships with other children.  We talked about behaviours that kept us 'above the line' and those that put us 'below the line'  and how these behaviours make other people judge us in different ways.  We talked about different personality types and brainstormed the characteristics people needed when working successfully with others on a group task.

Home Learning - Thank you for your support with your child's home learning over the last fortnight.  Following are some photos of the great work that was presented on Friday.

Our 3D sculptures using Sculptgl

On Friday Mrs Gregory introduced us to Sculptgl, a sculpting app where we had to turn a 3D shape into an animal of some sort.  We could change the texture, drag parts out and change the colour.  We are just experimenting at the moment but we are looking forward to working on the programme again and showing off some of our work.

School Leader speeches

Congratulations to all of the students in Tōtara who stepped up and presented fantastic speeches about why they would make a great school leader.  You all did an amazing job and I know you are having a nervous wait until the new school leaders are announced on Friday at school assembly.

Welcome to Tōtara Tales

Welcome Parents, Caregivers and  Whanau of the children in Tōtara.  Very soon this blog will be up and running so you will be able to see what your children are doing during their school day.  There will be links to sites for practising reading, writing and maths.  There will be photos and work that your children have done and want to celebrate with you.
